Bio: 

Yoshiko was born in Yamaguchi, Japan, and first became interested in museum studies in Hiroshima. She came to the United States to pursue her interest in museum studies which led to her passion for art and education. She lived in Boston, where she held teaching positions at the Japanese Language School, Massachusetts College of Art, the Museum of Fine Arts, Gateway Arts, and the Chestnut Hill School. Throughout her career she has interwoven her interests in art and education creating her own work in different media and teaching art to children, adults, and those with special needs. She has also shown her work in, curated, and installed exhibitions in many venues in and around Boston. As a teacher, Yoshiko believes in a child-centered age-appropriate approach to teaching, encouraging learning through process, problem solving, and creative exploration.
